Scrimmage Showdown
Ahaha! ♪ Hup, jump, hop, leeeaaap! ♪
The English one had a good idea to make the tei tei tei tei tei~ work.
Uwahhh?! Okay, okay, I'm sorry, Captain!
You need to construct your performance around a solid foundation that reflects your character.
Hrrrmmm...
“Solid foundation” is just a tiny “jiku” 軸 kanji in Japanese, meaning the core / the axis (inside oneself). (e.g. When you go buy mechanical keyboards in Japan, the choice of microswitches would be selecting which color of “jiku” you want. Yes, this is one of the not very useful things that somehow stuck with me after doing a master’s degree for 2 years in Japan…) But this exact kanji is important to the story.
Ahaha. There are aspects of Cannie's performance that may be a bit too free-spirited. But what did you think, Kakeru?
Watching her gave me this feeling of joy! Kind of like...I just wanna skip along while humming a tune!
This is likely a reference to “Laugh to Laugh to Love” that you have just played and unlocked, which features the rail skip-jumping to fit Canon’s performance style. (And you also have to do triplet swings by ear while it is doing that in the Master chart.)
Okay! I can do this!
“Usshi” for “here I go” came back again.
Time to groove!
Again, I wish they used LET’S, GROOVE COASTER! literally. (With the comma.)
Like Canon, Kakeru isn’t yet “awakened” at this story point, so Kakeru uses a generic “Let’s” like Canon’s “Go! Go!” earlier. If the English one used “Let’s GROOVE COASTER”, maybe English players would realize sooner that “Let’s” could be upgraded later, as might have been hinted at by Aria’s “Kanaderu (resound), GROOVE COASTER”.
