Notes:
- This is the best song currently to practice medium BPM crossover pattens. They are patterns with arrows going different directions but there is a white circle in-between them. This results in you are able to completely fix the position of finger on one hand of your choosing, while the other side travels around.
- : Three sets of crossovers you can practice at the beginning, with different settings. The 1st and the 3rd ones are arrow-circle-arrow-circle (horizontal). The 2nd one is instead circle-arrow-circle-arrow (vertical). It is up to you if you want to move around your dominant hand or your non-dominant hand if you want to practice crossovers. Being in the beginning, you can repeatedly retry until you get it.
- : Throughout this song, they will use 3 square notes spaced like this every time whether it is just instrumental or the singer is singing this way. You can alternate L and R, but personally I will use my dominant hand for all 3 square notes just so the interval of this rhythm gets registered to one hand.
- : The trick to not get confused is to reset dominant hand on every arrow notes. You can see I use the right side every time for the arrows. (RLRRLRRLRRLR) Also both sides moves to the equivalent button in sync despite there is no need to when note is a normal circle, just to make it less confusing overall.
- : Recommended to reset to dominant hand on every arrows to keep the beat.
- : This 16th stream is much trickier than it looks, and is the hardest part of this song in terms of getting an All Perfect. You might notice you mysteriously get non Perfect+ here or even Great despite doing fine on curved 16th streams elsewhere in this song (both earlier and later). It ending with a square note is one problem. But its real quirk is that the first note (syllable of the lyric) of this stream is not on the down beat, but rather a 16th note before. I learned from videos made by very good Groove Coaster player named Hirojixi ( please go subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@hirojixi ) that in order to tackle this semi-rare problem, you do something called "going in with a non-dominant hand". (I'm not sure about an appropriate English word to use because it was in Japanese.) Players almost always prefer starting a stream with their dominant hand, the real reason for doing that is so their dominant hand always line up with the down beat where they can bop their head to. If you do that on this stream, you'll instead get an opposite effect of throwing yourself off, because the down beat that follows one note later will be on your non-dominant hand. Therefore if you look closely in the video, I use my left side (blue) controller to start this stream despite being a right-hander, and the accuracy returned! (I still get one SLOW but I'm already happy that greats no longer appears...)
- If you want more songs to practice "going in with a non-dominant hand", try Melty Land Nightmare. It's right before the chorus : https://youtu.be/Q9JA31tZPdU?t=58 It also similarly ends with a square.
- : 今宵はいいんじゃない? (koyoi wa iin janai?) were all ad-libs in the previous game and I love this implementation. It looks like they are all alternating up down arrows with a bit of pause (5 - 2), and it might looked like I trade position of the buttons on both controllers just for style point. But actually I did that because I want to reset my dominant hand for the last 2 arrows. If you had accuracy problem in this part, I recommend trying them this way. (It's super fun to do too!)
- : The single side arrows here can trick you on the color of your dominant hand. For example I'm right-handed, the red arrow one will give me problems because they are protected by a white circle. If I press the white circle with my dominant hand without planning a bit ahead I'd be screwed. While I can play the blue arrow naturally because I'm going to use my dominant hand to hit the white circle anyways.
- (and every time they sings 惚れ惚れよ / bore hore yo) : You can practice crossovers a lot of times! In this part, I show 2 different ways : fix my non-dominant hand and move around my dominant hand on the first one, and inverted in the 2nd one where I instead move around my non-dominant hand.
- : This line note combination with an arrow on its end can also be interpreted as a crossover pattern.
- : If dual circles in-between squares are giving you problem, you are not yet used to holding the controller in the way that one index finger is ready on the shoulder buttons, and both thumbs also ready over the face buttons, and still somewhat gripping the controller with remaining part of your hand. You'll get used to do it soon. The trick is that there is no dual-square in this game, therefore you retain the controller grip of the side that you aren't using the index finger. I use my non-dominant hand index finger (left side) here, so I can grip better with my right hand.
- : This half-circle on the line appears from nowhere and I thought this is a bug. Later story unlock songs reveals that it is intentional! (It is just that in this song it suddenly got used out of the blue.) This is not a combination note. The half circle normally marks the start of a completely new line note and technically they aren't lying on this one. There is a line tail hidden under this half circle note that you can't see. In summary what you see here are actually 2 line notes with tail of the first one perfectly hidden. Their intention is so you do something similar to combination circle-on-a-line note, but instead of just pressing it, you "trade" the hand that you use to hold the line note and the other hand became free. It is actually very fun once I realize this is not a bug.
